Bell Block
Tonight’s stay
We came out to Bell Block NZMCA for 2 nights then we head into New Plymouth.

Taranaki
New PlymouthFrom the Bell Block NZMCA camp we managed to find the coastal walk and cycleway,  we did 30km that was to the wharf and back. It’s a very busy walkway great to see it well used, we were lucky with the weather no wind, and overcast just perfect. It was a score coming across the stone carving very interesting. The Fitzroy Motor Camp on the waterfront was full obviously very popular.

Paritutu Rock
We left Bell Block camp in the Motorhome this morning and went to Paritutu Rock and climbed to the top Scary!!! It would have been goodbye forever if we had fallen.

Puke Ariki Museum
After the full day yesterday, we had a late start today. Putting on sunscreen and biking into town we filled in the morning with no sweat at the Museum free entry and interesting. We even saw the orange Electrolux vacuum cleaner we use to have, now we are worried that our old stuff is in a museum lol
Great local stuff too, well worth a visit museums are such a personal interest thing but this one has something for all ages.
By the time we got out of there, it had started to drizzle and we had left the roof vents wide open, so powered up the bikes and headed home for lunch.
Oh nearly forgot to mention before the museum we checked out the stone art exhibit again they had finished and were setting up for the display and Auction.

Hawera
So here we are back in the lovely little town Hawera. We have been right around Mt Taranaki now. Today after spending our last night at Bell Block NZMCA Park, we drove past Robert's old school and the house where he lived in New Plymouth over 50 years ago on our way out of town. We called in for a look at the meeting of the waters where his mum and dad took him and his brothers swimming. Then on to Lake Mangamahoe, we were going to stay up Mt Taranaki north car park and do some walks but decided to move on to Hawera for the night it was just too busy up there for our liking.

 Tonight’s Stay
Town Clock
This morning headed out from Waverley Town to the Beach. Waverley Beach is the most unusual beach we have seen with high cliffs and caves.
We went for a short stroll and came across some campers making the most of it.
