Otorohanga
Finally, out of Covid19 lockdown and visiting family and friends, we have said goodbye to Kawakawa Bay this morning's first stop at The Base in Hamilton. Then after picking up our mail and shopping at the men’s wear in Otorohanga for warm clothing we settled in for the night at Otorohanga NZMCA

Tongaporutu
We had a good night in Otorohanga, this morning we went to Te Kuiti for the essentials leaving at midday heading to Piopio, Awakino, Mokau, and staying the night at Tongaporutu (free camping, no internet) we took the walk at low tide to the Three Sisters rock formations (check the tide times before you get there can only access up to 2 hours either side of low tide)
Today heading to Bell Block for new gumboots for Robert he found out the hard way he put a hole in his gumboots on the farm, seawater wet socks.

North Egmont
Tonight’s stay at North Egmont Carpark (free parking)
Arrived about 1pm and by the time we had lunch and looked through the i-site it had turned misty so skipped walking until the morning weather permitting.

Good night up Mt Taranaki temp only got down to 4 outside 11 inside with no heater on.
This morning's walk took 1&1/2 hours only 3 km but it was straight up steps all the way to the second lookout. The lockdown hasn’t helped my fitness even though we walked just about every day or I’m getting too old for vertical walks only consolation it’s easy coming down.

Sun on the mountain as we say goodbye
Leaving at dusk the mountain was throwing up some huge gusts, dog watching out for oncoming traffic. Heading for Stratford AMP Grounds we have been there before $5 per van and safe.

Kai Iwi Beach
Tonight’s stay...Kai Iwi Beach Holiday Park (Camp Saver with NZMCA $20 per night with power) Really lovely hosts who took over the camp the day of lockdown, really happy to support them.
We had a walk after leaving the camp at 10am we can highly recommend the camp very very clean.
