We had a busy couple of days getting Sog installed and a few things sorted on the Motorhome. We have also ordered Air Suspension from Zion to be fitted.Video of the system
Onewhero
We have moved to Onewhero Domain after having Christmas and Roberts's birthday with the kids.
We can stay here 3 nights free
Tip: Don’t park next to the cattle stop at the entrance across from the playground lol makes a loud noise. The camp was well used last night and very quiet.
Visited the Port today managed to catch up with so many old friends really enjoyable day.
Sunset Beach
Tuakau
So we stayed 2 nights at Onewhero Domain today started with light showers we went to Tuakau for lunch at The Fish Shop big feed of battered fresh flounder and fish and chips cooked to perfection. Thanks, Michelle and Chris lovely catch up.Pirongia
Free parking. Staying tonight up Mt Pirongia weather permitting will walk to the summit tomorrow.
Ruapane Lookout
Didn’t make the summit only made it to the Ruapane lookout.
Passed heaps of young people going to the hut with their packs for New Year’s Eve so cool.
View from Ruapane lookout
PioPio
After a peaceful couple of nights at Pirongia, we moved south this morning stopping at Otorohanga, Te Kuiti, and finally Tui Park in PioPio for $5 per night.Kiwi Camp has put showers in here so new and clean.
PioPio is a blink and you miss little town good place for a stopover and a rest. If you have a walk in town you can see the first-ever school bus in NZ they restored it and housed it proudly with viewing windows in Main Street.
Waitanguru Falls
23 km from Piopio with very interesting rock formations along the drive.
Omaru Falls
On our way to Taumarunui stopped at Omaru Falls
Really enjoyed the easy walk through lovely native bush with heaps of Rimu etc
Mapiu
Stopped at Mapiu Hall for lunch we needed to leave the falls to free up parking we were the first at the falls today but plenty there by the time we came out.
A farmer stopped on his bike to make sure we were ok with no cell coverage at the hall, just love how caring farmers are in the King Country.
Taumarunui
Stretched the legs with a walk up the Main Street.
Piriaka
About 10kms out of Taumarunui nothing here but a safe place to stay thanks to NZMCA.Only 2 other vans so good place to hideaway.
Robert painted the skid bar.
