Stratford Mountain House Carpark
Free parking in the car park for 4 nights.
It’s blowing an absolute gale up here with showers no chance of seeing this gorgeous Mountain today it is blanketed in cloud.

Very narrow road in that get narrower as we went up

Patea Loop Track...
Easy track with good footwear uphill one way cross the road then downhill back.

Curtis Falls Track
Took us 3 hours good boots needed small falls lovely hike through beautiful bush making it very enjoyable.

Mt Taranaki
View from Egmont House
Powdering of snow last night

Plateau Carpark
Got the bikes out this afternoon and went 4 km up the Mountain to the Plateau Carpark 1st gear number 3 & 4 on the power all the way.
Unfortunately, the cloud had come back in, on a clear day we would have seen Mt Ruapehu, Ngauruhoe & Tongariro.

Swing Bridge
Good walk to the swing bridge 2 1/2 hours return
Got to 12 degrees today and the cloud has blanketed the mountain all day.

Mt Taranaki
From Egmont House, after being in the cloud all day we get a treat tonight.

Mt Taranaki Dawson Falls
Moved on to Dawson Falls after staying 3 nights at Egmont House. After doing the essentials in Stratford we head up the mountain again. It’s a very narrow road in luck only had to pass cars and not Motorhomes or we would have had to back out. We got a surprise to see the Carpark full but managed to get a perfect spot to stay with someone just leaving. Free parking for 4 nights.

Dawson Falls Historic Power Station

Dawson Falls
Kapuni Loop Track
We did the loop track that takes in the Dawson Falls

Dawson Falls

Hooker Shelter
We only went up to the Hillary Seat

Wilkies Pools Loop Track
Loved this walk we got back to the Carpark at about 3pm this was our 3rd walk for the day.
The car park was still packed worse than queen street on a Friday night so we decided one night here was enough especially since tomorrow was the weekend and would probably be worse for getting down the narrow road off the Mountain.
